The Future needs Energy
What does the energy transition mean for Germany and Europe? How does it influence and change society? And how can society be mobilized for the energy system changeover? The innogy Foundation for Energy and Society seeks answers to these questions.
Our aim is to prompt a wide-ranging debate on topics relating to energy and society. We take part in discussions. We launch processes. We spotlight conflicts and bring radically different stakeholders into dialogue. At the same time, we play our own part as a stakeholder and source of proven technical knowledge. We appreciate variety and dialogue, fair controversies and unconventional positions. In this context, we take a broad, inter-disciplinary view of energy. We act independently, on our own initiative. As a partner in civil society, we feel under an obligation to promote the common good. So we do our bit towards a successful energy transition – so that society as a whole can benefit from this change.
- Thorough education in energy issues is essential for participation in the changeover of the energy supply system by responsible members of the public.
- This transformation can only succeed in close interaction with technical and social innovations, which we research, initiative and support in the social sphere.
The goal of our work is broad acceptance of the change. We achieve this by clear information, new forms of stakeholding, and creating space to try them out.
